VEDEQSA belongs to LAMIRSA GROUP since 1967 and it specializes in additives and specific ingredients for the food and cosmetic industry.

The pioneering achievement of VEDEQSA is the development of LAE® (Ethyl lauroyl arginate, lauric arginate), a molecule based on natural compounds with very high antimicrobial activity, of which LAMIRSA GROUP is the owner of the patents of synthesis and use.

LAE® is distributed worldwide and is authorized for food preservation in many countries, including the European Union, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Australia,
New Zealand, Israel, Turkey and countries governed by CODEX (INS 243).

High antimicrobial capacity

High activity against a wide spectrum of microorganisms: gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, yeast and fungi. There is no resistance effect, it is effective over a wide pH range and it is chemically stable in every food matrix. It disrupts the cell membrane and has an effect in the cell cytoplasm.

Safe for humans

Its particular chemical structure allows that, once ingested, it is hydrolyzed to common natural endogenous substances in humans (lauric acid, arginine, ornithine, CO2).

No toxicity in food

No toxicity at doses of use, supported by multiple toxicological studies conducted in Huntingdon Life Sciences and other institutions (CSIC, University of Barcelona, SafePharm, ABC Research, EVIC, NOTOX, CIDASAL). It does not alter the product’s organoleptic features and it is resistant to all heat treatments (boiling, UHT, pasteurization).
